Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations with a customer-first approach. You will assist the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and adherence to safety and cash-handling policies as you support store performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cashiering functions.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Support planogram implementation and proper merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
