Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Smyrna, Delaware to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with day-to-day activities and supervise store associates.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise from delivery to sales floor, performing opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a neat, well‑stocked store. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; strong communication and leadership skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions and concerns.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handling damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked and organized store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
