Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure the seasonal areas are maintained.

This part-time role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to safety and loss prevention. You will supervise and train store associates and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required for understanding directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
