Job summary

Journeys in McAllen, TX is seeking a Store Associate/Co-Manager trainee to assist the Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and guiding store personnel to hit sales goals.

You'll help recruit, train, and coach a high-performing team, ensure loss prevention, deliver a fun full-service experience, and embody Journeys' culture while working about 45 hours a week, including some nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to train and develop a sales team.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication with staff and customers.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring of high-caliber employees.
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees.
• Ensure all company initiatives are implemented per company direction.
• Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth.
• Supervise daily store operations in leadership's absence.
• Assist in Loss Prevention practices in leadership's absence.
• Communicate store needs to management.
• Resolve customer issues effectively.
• Provide a fun, full-service experience to customers.
• Demonstrate Journeys culture to the team.
