Job summary

Family Dollar in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service and team development. You will help organize merchandise, support opening/closing procedures, and supervise store associates to maintain a neat, customer-friendly environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and adherence to store policies, while ensuring safety and efficient daily operations. This position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Support customers with questions or concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts; assist loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training and developing Store Associates.
