Job summary

Family Dollar in Fairmont, WV seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and support the Store Manager.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, opening/closing procedures, payroll/scheduling, and maintaining clean, safe store conditions. A strong customer service focus and leadership potential are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Retail/store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling and cash deposits
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies
• Train and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment
• Other duties as assigned
