Job summary

Dollar Tree in Memphis, TN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, and help lead a high-energy team to deliver great service.

This full-time role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to store standards. You will help with opening/closing procedures, payroll records, and loss prevention while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and keeping records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and orderly areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
