Job summary

Dollar Tree in Bel Air, MD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, improve customer service, and develop store staff.

You will assist with merchandise flow, opening/closing, scheduling, payroll, and loss prevention while maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming store environments.

This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operating directives.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
