Job summary

Family Dollar in Denton, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening and closing, organize merchandise, and help supervise associates to maintain a high standard of store presentation.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), store management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and merchandise displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
