Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with opening/closing procedures, merchandising, and compliance with corporate directives to ensure a smooth shopping experience. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude to lead store associates and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, bending and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays' effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
