Job summary

Jenni Kayne, a California-based lifestyle brand, seeks a store operations assistant to support daily operations and customer service in the Woodbury area. You will supervise staff, assist with recruitment and training, and ensure loss prevention and store policies are followed.

This role requires 1–2 years retail experience, leadership ability, and strong communication. You’ll manage schedules, build client relationships, and handle POS transactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in retail sales; women's upper contemporary, multi-label or luxury designer preferred.
• Previous retail management experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• Can-do attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Willingness and availability to work during peak business periods - weekends, holidays, etc.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (20 pounds or more) from time to time as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in daily business operations: coordinating, monitoring and reporting on daily operations.
• Assist with recruitment, training and supervising employees.
• Maximize sales and provide friendly and welcoming customer service.
• Communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs.
• Assist with managing employee schedules.
• Build relationships with clients and maintain an updated client book.
• Drive sales through consignments, partnerships with Interior Designers, and wardrobe stylists.
• Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
• Ensure store policies and procedures are followed.
• Handle all point-of-sale transactions including sales, exchanges, refunds, gift cards, and gift wrap.
• Take an active role in stock transfers, receiving new merchandise, displays setup and store events.
• Encourage customers to sign up for Jenni Kayne Rewards and engage on social media.
• Communicate feedback with management and write daily business recaps.
• Secure company assets through loss prevention in compliance with policies.
