Job summary

Foot Locker is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to energize the floor, coach the team, and ensure a superb customer experience while supporting the Store Manager. This role focuses on leadership, strong communication, and driving store performance.

You will manage daily operations, sales goals, and training, taking ownership of tasks and delivering a consistent, high-quality customer journey across shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience with leadership or key-holder responsibilities.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and ready to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with energy, ownership and a customer-first mindset.
• Coach the team to deliver great service, share product knowledge, and keep customers excited to shop.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping the team close the loop with customers.
• Open/close store operations, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Keep the store organized, customer-ready and running smoothly.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs to protect customers, teammates, and product.
• Take an owner/operator mindset by addressing issues and maintaining standards.
• Leverage retail technology and digital tools to enhance the customer experience and support efficient operations.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled; provide confident leadership and direction.
• Support hiring, onboarding and training of store associates.
• Coach teammates in real time and close performance gaps.
• Jump in wherever needed to support the team and priorities.
