Job summary

Dollar Tree in Byron, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development on a on-site basis. You will assist with day-to-day activities, supervise associates, and ensure safety and merchandising standards are met.

Responsibilities include opening/closing tasks, payroll and scheduling support, loss prevention, and maintaining a well-stocked, clean store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform repetitive lifting and standing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain clean and well-stocked sales floor and stockroom
• Protect store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store areas clean and presentable including bathrooms
• Perform other duties as assigned
