Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a customer-first store environment. You will help supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and ensure efficient cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety meetings, inventory control, and assisting with the Store Manager in their absence. This full-time role emphasizes profitability and loss prevention in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must provide strong customer service leadership and effective communication.
• Ability to manage cashiering and basic store operations with accuracy and accountability.
• Experience with inventory control, merchandising, and planogram execution.
• Supervisory experience preferred to assist with scheduling and training.
• Attention to detail in safety, procedures, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cashiering systems.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, displays, and restocking.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise presentation per standards.
• Support cash handling, refunds, and deposits; count tills and secure deposits.
• Assist in managing the store in the Store Manager's absence.
