Job summary

JCPenney in Idaho Falls is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in building a results-driven team and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will help execute store operations and maintain an engaging, well-presented sales floor.

You will mentor and develop associates, lead by example on selling techniques, and ensure merchandise standards are met. The role requires energy, adaptability, and a willingness to own tasks across the store.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Co/Assistant Manager in apparel retail.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales and targets.
• Flexible availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Occasional travel to other store locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to create action plans to achieve results and grow the business.
• Demonstrate product knowledge, selling and operational skills to maximize sales.
• Engage with customers to build relationships and brand loyalty.
• Develop team members who deliver a great customer experience.
• Oversee assigned division of responsibility and accountability for results.
• Support merchandising and store operations standards.
• Learn all aspects of the business and share ideas to drive the business.
• Remain composed in the face of challenges.
• Perform POS transactions and step in for Store Manager when needed.
• Model values of respect, integrity, teamwork, compassion, accountability, and inclusivity.
