Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Bridgeton, MO to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise store functions, organize merchandise, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for customers and staff.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
