Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC in Harpursville, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development.

You will supervise staff, open and close the store, organize merchandise, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while delivering friendly service and meeting store goals.

This part-time role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking/standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
