Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, elevate customer service, and develop the team in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist with merchandise organization, opening and closing procedures, scheduling, loss prevention, and staff training while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and a friendly, safe atmosphere.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a high-energy, team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store and protect company assets.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
