Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development in Altoona, PA. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and maintaining store standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug stores. You will supervise associates, train staff, and uphold safety and loss prevention while delivering friendly, professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store areas with a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
