Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Dubuque, IA to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. The role includes assisting with merchandising, training, scheduling, and loss prevention while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, ensuring a well-stocked floor, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner with questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damage, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash and security.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure following of procedures by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep bathrooms and store areas clean and presentable.
