O'Reilly Auto Parts in Gig Harbor, WA, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role will lead the store team when the manager is absent and/or on opposing shifts.

You will mentor team members, participate in hiring, ensure staffing for peak hours, and oversee order processing, returns, and daily close procedures. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Desirable: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including program execution.
• Staff the retail sales counter during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in coaching/mentoring team members and setting goals.
• Participate in hiring tasks: recruiting, interviewing, and candidate evaluation.
• Ensure phone calls are answered per policy and orders processed timely.
• Oversee buy online/ship to store, transfers, and DC add orders; contact customers on shipment arrivals.
• Manage returns, refunds, and merchandise invoicing at the point of sale.
• Perform opening/closing duties, money handling, bank deposits, and security checks.
• Maintain store building, parking lot, signage, and equipment; ensure compliance with policies.
