Job summary

Bath & Body Works is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the Akron area to partner with the Store Manager in developing outstanding associates and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will lead the front line of our field leadership team, drive sales, and ensure operations run smoothly with a focus on product knowledge and brand standards.

You will coach and motivate associates, meet payroll targets with proper staffing, and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging shopping

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results.
• Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in a retail setting.
• Thrives in a customer-first based retail environment.
• Ability to foster a customer-focused selling culture.
• Effective communication skills, being open to feedback, and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates.
• Ability to de-escalate store and customer situations effectively.
• Must be available to work peak days and times, including varied shifts of evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
• Set and reinforce clear and concise performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
• Responsible for leadership tasks as delegated by the Store Manager including acting as Manager on Duty.
• Partner with the Sales Leadership Team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
• Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
• Perform opening and closing routines including execution of bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpret/disseminate company directives.
• Set the direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work.
• Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
• Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
• Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and product knowledge.
• Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs and making personalized recommendations.
• Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
• Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
• All store positions require constant physical activity including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting.
• Maintain safety standards and store appearance.
