Madewell in New York City is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a team and drive store profitability through genuine customer connections and brand loyalty. You will coach sales staff, help implement store strategies, and support daily operations to ensure smooth performance.

You will contribute to recruiting and training efforts, foster a collaborative environment, and ensure consistent goals alignment across the leadership team while maintaining exceptional customer service and product

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience.
• Passion for fashion and brand alignment.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact profitability while maintaining brand standards.
• Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development as needed.
• Collaborate to create a supportive and collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team consistently meets goals and delivers best-in-class customer service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to strengthen authentic customer connections.
• Develop community engagement and loyalty through events.
• Be prepared to step into different roles on the sales floor when required.
