Job summary

Family Dollar in Burgaw, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and uphold safety and policy standards.

This full-time, on-site role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and strong communication skills. You will participate in opening/closing routines, staff training, and maintaining attractive, well-stocked aisles while following

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed; ensure security of assets.
• Process corporate directives and maintain documentation related to store activities.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure all areas meet company standards.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
