Job summary

Family Dollar in Burlington, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and help ensure clean, well-stocked shelves.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail/store management experience preferred in grocery, drug, or general retail.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, records and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked, clean, and organized to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash, and ensure policy compliance.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Foster a safe, respectful environment and maintain professional relations with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors.
• Any other duties as assigned.
