Job summary

Family Dollar in Bogalusa, Louisiana seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and help manage payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.

You will train and supervise store associates, uphold safety policies, and maintain a clean, friendly shopping environment for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; manage payroll, scheduling, and cash handling details.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention; ensure stockroom and sales floor are well-kept.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates; ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
