Job summary

Family Dollar in Breaux Bridge, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and training of associates, ensuring a positive environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, inventory, merchandising, loss prevention, payroll/scheduling, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain neat and well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Support the Store Manager in training and development of Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional customer interactions.
• Keep store clean and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, and waste.
