Family Dollar in Knightdale, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and help manage opening/closing procedures.

The role emphasizes strong communication, high-energy teamwork, and maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment. Prior retail/store management experience is preferred and lifting up to 55 lbs may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked and clean store environment and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure safety guidelines are followed by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, and waste.
• Other duties as assigned.
