Job summary

Family Dollar in Hobbs, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver strong customer service, and coach team members.

You will assist with merchandise planning, stock control, opening/closing procedures, and compliance with company policies while maintaining a safe, clean store.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and store management experience; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in merchandising and moving merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support the Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
• Protect store assets including cash and follow loss prevention procedures.
