Job summary

Family Dollar in Hobbs, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the store team. You will help with merchandising, scheduling, and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, open and close the store as needed, and contribute to a positive, high-energy work environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, and bending tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and stock merchandise from delivery to floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked, neat store and secure assets.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Coach and develop Store Associates and support the Store Manager.
