Job summary

Citi Trends in Chickasaw, AL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, lead a team, and work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service.

You will assist with hiring, onboarding, and training, manage inventory and shrink prevention, and coach associates to meet performance standards while ensuring policy compliance. The role requires strong communication and flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer service standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and service.
• Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training support.
• Help maintain staffing levels by supporting recruiting and retention.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to associates.
• Maintain a safe, organized, customer-focused store environment.
• Reinforce adherence to policies, loss prevention, and merchandising standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations.
