Job summary

Friedman’s Home Improvement is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Sonoma warehouse location. You will lead departments of 20–40 Team Members, mentor future leaders, and ensure policy compliance while focusing on the voice of the customer.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, evaluating labor and sales reports, interviewing and hiring, and guiding daily workflow to meet retail goals. Strong supervisory skills and MS Office/D365 experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced education or training from college or university.
• 5+ years in a retail environment or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum mid-level management background with exceptional supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees departments of 20–40 Team Members depending on channel and scope.
• Develops future leaders through training in policies, SOPs, and product knowledge.
• Understands the voice of the customer to address opportunities.
• Coaches and mentors on products, software systems and procedures.
• Moves throughout the store to assist Team Members as Manager on Duty.
• Responsible for opening and closing store duties and staffing.
• Monitors sales reporting, labor reporting, and margin erosion.
• Interviews, hires, and trains new Team Members.
• Plans daily workflow within the Business Channel and department.
