Job summary

Family Dollar in Lake View, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure storefront displays remain promotional and compliant with policies.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to work in a high-energy team environment. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, loss prevention, and coaching

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions.
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
