Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with responsibilities including opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, and staff training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention duties.
• Maintain stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect cash and store assets; follow safety guidelines.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
