Job summary

Family Dollar in Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is stocked and displayed to planograms.

The role involves opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. Part-time hours may apply, with emphasis on teamwork and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise; process damaged merchandise and record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
