Family Dollar in Appleton, WI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, support customer service, and develop the store team. You will oversee opening and closing tasks and ensure promotional displays are effective.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and a dedication to safe, friendly service. You will work on stock organization, payroll and scheduling tasks, and contribute to a positive, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical activities as part of a store role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness, restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
