Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC in Bronx, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with day-to-day functions, organizing merchandise, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and retail leadership experience. This is a part-time position with opportunities to train and develop Store Associates, while ensuring a positive customer

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly.
• Experience leading small teams in a retail or grocery setting.
• Ability to interpret store directives and follow procedures.
• Willingness to lift and move merchandise and assist with stock tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and record keeping.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and train associates to do the same.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including restrooms and floors.
• Support additional duties as assigned, including alcohol/tobacco licensing if applicable.
