Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Pennsylvania LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Chester, PA to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with daily activities, organizing merchandise, and helping customers with inquiries.

The position requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced retail environment, with responsibilities spanning from opening/closing procedures to loss prevention and staff training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure staff follow policies.
• Support the Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
