Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Pennsylvania LLC in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with merchandise handling, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, organized store environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work in a high-energy team, and the drive to deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure policy compliance and safety guidelines are followed by all associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
