Job summary

E&H Ace Hardware is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of one of our locally owned retail stores. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer‑focused environment and is ready to drive sales, coach team members, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day execution on the sales floor.

As part of E&H Hardware Group, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to create a welcoming, productive retail space, train staff, supervise

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Office, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule incl. weekends/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train team members using E&H’s Customer First Sales Culture.
• Lead by example in customer-focused service.
• Supervise daily store operations including opening, closing, and manager-on-duty shifts.
• Support merchandising and ensure signage and displays are accurate.
• Assist customers with purchases, returns, special orders, and online fulfillment.
• Manage inventory through cycle counts and stock monitoring.
• Oversee receiving, checking-in, and stocking.
• Maintain clean, organized sales floor and stock areas.
• Participate in store resets and reorganizations.
• Address customer or employee concerns professionally.
• Foster a safe store environment to prevent theft and accidents.
• Operate POS and ACENET systems confidently.
• Be flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays.
