Job summary

Sportsman's Warehouse in Federal Way is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations and coach a high-performing team. You will supervise Outfitters, implement performance feedback, and drive sales through strong merchandising and customer engagement.

The position requires 2+ years of retail leadership and 3+ years in outdoor sporting goods, plus proficiency with Tomax, Excel, and UKG. A flexible schedule and commitment to service are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a retail environment at a Team Lead or Assistant Manager level.
• 3+ years of experience within an outdoor and/or sporting goods–focused retailer.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software and tools, including Tomax, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Cisco phone systems, and UKG.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in leading, training, and mentoring team members while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and high performance.
• Maintain clear, ongoing communication with Outfitters to clarify expectations, train on knowledge and skills, and address employee concerns.
• Support the performance evaluation process by providing constructive feedback to employees.
• Help manage daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee departmental functions, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and standards are maintained.
• Assist in executing opening and closing procedures, including store security and compliance.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Assist in hiring, training, and onboarding new team members to ensure smooth integration into the store culture.
• Facilitate conflict resolution among team members to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Support the Store Manager in driving sales and achieving financial objectives through effective merchandising and customer engagement strategies.
• Ensure all employees are trained to deliver exceptional customer service and possess strong product knowledge.
• Assist in managing in-store events and promotional activities to increase customer engagement and traffic.
