Job summary

BibliU Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Socorro, New Mexico, to plan, organize and manage all areas in a retail location, ensuring budgets are met and inventory is maintained for textbooks and general merchandise.

This full-time role requires 3–5 years in a college bookstore or retail operation, 2 years in a supervisory capacity, and strong communication and Microsoft Office skills. Travel to remote locations is required each semester.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a college bookstore or retail operation.
• 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Excellent team building skills.
• Demonstrated administrative skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Software.
• Two years of college or its equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the faculty to obtain key information in the text area and general merchandise areas.
• Schedule regular appointments and meet with the appropriate administrative personnel to build rapport, discuss situations and avoid potential problems.
• Recruit, hire, train and maintain staff at appropriate levels according to company guidelines and budgets.
• Daily cash register operations, daily data entry of textbook information, textbook receiving and stocking as well as end of day balancing.
• Answering telephone and email, all areas of customer service.
• Traveling to and operating remote locations during each semester.
