Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with day-to-day store activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and supporting opening/closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and reliability, with a focus on loss prevention, payroll/scheduling, and maintaining a safe, friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, trash, and neat, presentable areas.
