Family Dollar in Wichita, KS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train store associates.

The role emphasizes building a positive environment, handling opening/closing procedures, and ensuring policy compliance. Prior store management exposure in retail is preferred, with emphasis on strong communication and teamwork.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as described.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between stockroom and sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged goods, and record keeping including payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, organized store areas and secure assets including cash.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and professional environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of bathrooms and floors; manage waste and stockroom upkeep.
