Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day‑to‑day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and support opening/closing procedures.

Responsibilities include handling corporate directives, maintaining promotional displays, assisting in ordering and records, and ensuring safety and policy compliance. You will help train Store Associates and foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store front
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies by all associates
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure store areas are clean, neat, and presentable
