Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Newark, Delaware to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and ensure a safe, clean store environment.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with a preference for prior store management experience in retail or grocery settings. You will help supervise staff and maintain promotional displays while providing excellent service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Customer service and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and stock merchandise on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas clean and organized, and secure assets.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, and manage trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
