Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Locust, North Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, provide outstanding customer service, and help develop the store team. The role involves opening/closing duties, merchandising, loss prevention, and staff training to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention
• Keep store areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and supervise Store Associates as needed
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff
• Support a friendly, professional store atmosphere and teamwork
• Other duties as assigned
