Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Trussville, Alabama is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, customer service, merchandising, and staff supervision. The role involves ensuring policies are followed and driving store performance.

The Assistant Manager will lead in the Store Manager’s absence, coordinate scheduling, training, and inventory control, and help deliver outstanding customer experiences across all departments.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel, with 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist in managing a team while meeting goals and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume store responsibility in the Store Manager's absence.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Produce exceptional customer service per manuals and assist customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies, procedures and standards as listed in manuals.
