Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Hueytown, Alabama is seeking an Assistant Manager to support Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, merchandising and store policies. You will learn each product area, supervise during the Store Manager’s absence, and help drive sales and inventory control.

This role requires 1-3 years of retail experience, excellent communication, strong detail orientation, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Establish action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Recruiting, training, and evaluation of personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Maintain quality customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
