Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Kenosha, WI to support store operations and customer service. You will assist with daily activities, merchandise organization, and staff development in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining store standards. Part-time hours and a supportive team culture are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent movement and physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-front windows.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness in the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Assist with any other duties as assigned.
